Mission
The Eastern Wyoming College Foundation was established to engage community interest and support for enhanced academic, personal, and vocational opportunities for college students beyond the capacity of the local college district budget.
How You Can Help
You can make a real and lasting difference in the daily life of our community simply by making a contribution to the Eastern Wyoming College Foundation. Almost anything of value can be considered as a contribution to the Eastern Wyoming College Foundation.
An outright gift may be made with a minimum of legal complexity, report making, or other complications. To become a donor, you can transfer your gift of cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, or other assets to the Eastern Wyoming College Foundation accompanied by a letter stating the nature and intent of the contribution.
Deferred giving vehicles such as trusts, wills or life insurance policies may be established to benefit the Eastern Wyoming College Foundation.
DEFERRED GIVING OPTIONS
-
Last Will and Testament: You may list the Eastern Wyoming College Foundation as a beneficiary in your will. Such requests are allowed as deductions in determining the net value of an estate for federal estate tax purposes.
-
Living Trust: A living trust provides you with an opportunity to avoid probate and maintain the privacy and control of your estate. A Charitable Remainder Trust and Charitable Remainder Unitrust provide you with an opportunity to realize an immediate tax benefit from the charitable deduction without forfeiting the right to current cash flow from the property contributed. As an example, you can transfer highly appreciated assets into an irrevocable trust, naming a qualified charity as beneficiary. The trustee may sell the asset at full market value, paying no taxes on the capital gain. The trustee can then reinvest the proceeds in income producing assets with the trust paying you an income for the remainder of your life. You receive an immediate charitable income tax deduction for the value of the gift and the charity receives the principal upon your death.
-
Life Insurance: You may contribute your rights of ownership in a life insurance policy and yield a substantial income tax deduction. You may also list the EWC Foundation as a beneficiary in a life insurance policy and your estate will receive an offsetting estate tax charitable deduction.
If you desire to make a gift to the Eastern Wyoming College Foundation by will, trust, insurance policy or life income arrangement, please refer to: The Eastern Wyoming College Foundation, a nonprofit corporation, organized and existing under the laws of the State of Wyoming.
